DBK-EMS: Head of Production & Logistics
EMS (Electronic Manufacturing Service), Germany, TO: € 30 M / 200 E
Due to a largely lacking capacity and occupancy planning, DBK EMS had accumulated a considerable “order bow wave”. I quickly recognized the negative effects and initiated a project to bring the critical situation under control with targeted measures.
- Responsibility for over 150 employees in 5 departments (SMT, THT, testing & assembly, logistics and production engineering)
- Increase in capacity through new hires and increased efficiency
- Ensuring production output and drastically increasing adherence to deadlines
- Conversion of Logistics & Warehouse into a real service department
- Definition & implementation of the production structure according to the «cell principle»
- Reorganization of the entire planning and control in cooperation with the relevant departments
- Implementation of KPIs and a new shop floor management.
Results / successes
- Rapid dismantling of the "order bow wave" through implementation of a previously largely missing capacity and occupancy planning
- Increase in the competence of industrial planning (material, capacity, lead time)
- Stabilization of the critical delivery situation and successful further development in terms of lean production.
